Hand Colouring Prints
There is a long tradition of colouring prints made on the press, although this can be described by some as a controversial method of adding colour to a handmade print it is nevertheless a great way of adding colour to your artwork, many contemporary printmakers use this along with well known ones such as Picasso.
If you tried our Cyanotype image making watercolour is an ideal way of enhancing those blue monochromatic prints, so too with Etchings and Drypoints there is a long history of hand colouring these as with Lithographs too
This one day workshop will take you through the process using watercolours and coloured pencils, we will talk about papers suitable for these and the different types of water based paints and pencils. Bring along some prints to work with and we shall see what to make and how these techniques can enhance a print.
All materials Included, just bring along some prints to colour.
